K.S.C.L.A - Karnataka State College Librarians' Association

CONSTITUTIONS AND BYE-LAWS

1.	Name	The Association shall be called "KARNATAKA STATE COLLEGE LIBRARIANS' ASSOCIATION" (K.S.C.L.A.)
2.	Office	The Registered office of the Association shall be located in Bangalore City. The present address is :- The Secretary Karnataka State College Librarians Association, c/o. Central College Library, Bangalore - 560 001
3.	Objects	i) to promote fellow feeling, Spirit of National awareness, self help, self reliance and self respect among college librarians; ii) to work for improvement in the conditions of service, social status and prospects of the college librarians; iii) to protect and safeguard the rights of the college librarians by constitutional methods; iv) to provide opportunities for self education and self improvement among college librarians; v) to suggest ways and means to improve the conditions of the college libraries; vi) to arrange lecturer by eminent persons and conduct seminars by symposiums; vii) to publish a professional journal.
4.	Membership	Those who are employed as librarians in any constituent college or similar institution of higher learning in Karnataka State and who are above the age of 18 years can become members of associations by paying prescribed fee. Under the discretion of executive committee, the Association may Admit librarians, Deputy Librarians and Assistant Librarians working in the University libraries in Karnataka State. Librarian means person who possesses a degree or diploma in library science from a university or similar recognised institute and is incharge of the library or section of the library.
